Albany College of Pharmacy
Albany College of Pharmacy maintains a reputation as one of the finest pharmacy institutions in the globe. The College began with a faculty of three teaching only four courses. Currently, there are more than 80 full-time faculty teaching more than 110 courses! New programs developed in recent years to complement the traditional pharmacy curriculum are Bachelor of Science degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biomedical Technology (the latter with concentrations in Cytotechnology and Clinical Laboratory Sciences), and a Certificate Program in Cytotechnology. ACP, one of the nation's premier scientific teaching institutions, is preparing students to excel in this new era of health care - an age where pharmacy and biomedical professionals will be at the heart of medical teams that bring hope, knowledge and continuing health to the people they serve. ACP is a private professional college offering a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, with a freshman-entry six-year option and an Accelerated option for transfer students. The Pharm.D. is the sole degree leading to pharmacy licensure. ACP also offers a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Certificate Program in Cytotechnology. Additional programmatic growth is planned. Founded in 1881, ACP is New York state's oldest pharmacy school and one of the only private, independent pharmacy schools in the United States. Nearly all pharmacy graduates pass national and state licensure exams on the first try, and exciting, rewarding jobs typically await all graduates not continuing their education.
